Happy Annivesary - Father Dave Travers

Spiritual Moms, please join us in praying for Father Dave Travers, recently retired pastor of Saints Peter and Paul, Honolulu, today as he celebrates the anniversary of his ordination.

Daily Prayer for Priests

O loving Mother Mary,
Mother of Priests,
take to your heart your sons
who are close to you because of their priestly ordination
and because of the power which they have received
to carry on the work of Christ
in a world which needs them so much.
Be their comfort,
be their joy,
be their strength,
and especially help them to live and
to defend the ideals of consecrated celibacy.

Father Marvin Samiano's 20th Anniversary of Ordination

Please join the spiritual moms in praying for Father Marvin on this the 20th anniversary of his ordination.
We thank you, God our Father, for those who have responded to your call to priestly ministry. Accept this prayer we offer on their behalf: Fill your priests with the sure knowledge of your love. Open their hearts to the power and consolation of the Holy Spirit. Lead them to new depths of union with your Son. Increase in them profound faith in the Sacraments they celebrate as they nourish, strengthen and heal us.

Happy Anniversary Father Khanh Hoang

Spiritual Moms please join us in praying for Father Khanh at this the anniversary of his ordination.
Mass was offered for his intentions this morning.

Prayer to the Virgin Mary for Priests by Blessed John Paul II

MORNING OFFERING PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
Father most holy,
I offer You the prayers, works,
joys, and sufferings of this day
by placing them in the holy and venerable hands
of Jesus, the Eternal High Priest,
and by saying, as He did upon entering the world,
"Behold, I come to do Your will" (Hebrews 10:9).

For the sake of all His priests,
and in particular for Father Khanh.,
I entreat Your beloved Son to unite my offering
to the Sacrifice of the Cross,
renewed upon the altars of Your Church
from the rising of the sun to its setting (Malachy 1:11).

Most merciful Father,
look upon these men chosen by Your Son
to show forth His death until He comes (1 Cor 11:26);
keep them from the Evil One (John 17:15)
and sanctify them in the truth (John 17:17).

Bind them by a most tender love
to the Virgin Mary, their Mother
that, by her intercession,
they may be overshadowed by the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35)
in every act of their sacred ministry;
thus may their priesthood reveal
the Face of Jesus and the merciful love of His Heart,
for the fruitfulness of His spouse, the Church.
and the praise of Your glory. Amen.
Amen. Source

Happy 50th Anniversary Father Paul Smith

Father Paul Smith's Golden Jubilee
Fifty years ago today, on the Feast of St. Philip Neri,  Father Paul Smith was ordained a priest. Mahalo for answering the privileged call to the priesthood! Father's jubilee and interview can be found here

 Litany for Priests
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, give all priests Thy spirit of humility;
Jesus, poor and worn out for souls, give all priests Thy spirit of zeal;
Jesus, full of patience and mercy for sinners, give all priests Thy spirit of compassion;
Jesus, victim for the sins of the world, give all priests Thy spirit of sacrifice;
Jesus, lover of the little and the poor, give all priests Thy spirit of charity.
Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us; and obtain for us numerous and holy priests and religious. Amen.

 O Jesus, Eternal High Priest, live in Father Paul,
act in him,
speak in and through him.
Think Thy thoughts in his mind,
love through his heart.
Give him Thine Own dispositions and feelings.
Teach, lead and guide him always.
Correct, enlighten and expand his thoughts and behavior.
Possess his soul;
take over his entire personality and life.
Replace him with Thyself.
Incline him to constant adoration and thanksgiving;
pray in and through him.
Let him live in Thee and keep him in this intimate union always.
O Mary, Immaculate Conception,
Mother of Jesus and Mother of priests, pray and intercede for Father Paul. Amen. Prayer source

Bishop Larry Silva, looking proud and pleased

Celebration of Mass to honor our Lord Jesus Christ, our Most High Priest

Honoring our priests... and brothers, nuns and sisters, here!

These are just a few of them. I wish I had taken a picture
of each one of our priests with Bishop Larry Silva,
but my camera was slow and I was situated
in a very unsuitable spot. I am learning! (with a giggle here!)

Bishop Larry with Fr. Gordy of Sacred Heart Parish

Our bishop with Fr. Keahi receiving for Fr. Edward Popish, SS.CC

Fr. Russel Roid, SJ

I had the opportunity to serve food afterwards
so some of the nuns, sisters,
and priests couldn't bypass my table
without me taking a picture of them!
Vicar General Fr. Marc Alexander
celebrates 25 years of ordination
He couldn't join in the celebration due to a Mass
he was presiding in another parish.

My diocese, Diocese of Honolulu, celebrated today, May 1,
the lives of priests, brothers, nuns and sisters on their
50th, 60th, 70th, and 75th anniversary of ordination or profession.

This blog honors them and the Risen Christ present in each one of them.

Congratulations!

Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa!

Happy 25th Anniversary Father Gordy!

Photo Source

Father Gordian Carvalho,  pastor of the Manoa Punahou Catholic Community, celebrates the 25th anniversary of his ordination.

Happy Anniversary Father Gordy.  You are a true inspiration and a true model of a Catholic priest.  May God bless you always.

Anniversary of Ordination

Most loving Jesus, today is the anniversary of the day on which, despite my unworthiness and through your goodness, You conferred on me the dignity of the priesthood. You made me not only your minister but the voice of your sublime wisdom as well, and the dispenser of your mysteries. My soul is filled with joy, love, and gratitude for this singular privilege which I have received. At the same time, I am sad and troubled for having so often, and without reason, failed to respond as I ought to your great generosity.

I beg the continual assistance of your infinite goodness which will enable me to accomplish the sublime work for which You have commissioned me. With your light in my mind and your strength in my heart I shall daily dispense in greater abundance the fruits of your redemption to all people. Amen.
